I haven’t worn a medic alert bracelet in about 12 years. I couldn’t find one I liked and honestly, i wasn’t really actively looking for one. I figured If something happened they would see my pump and figure it out. Now that I have a kid this bracelet started to feel really important again. If anything happens, especially if he’s with me, I want the numbers to call right there in plain sight. This will give me some peace of mind, especially since we have 2 trips out of the country planned this year and traveling as a diabetic is always a little intimidating. Plus I’m hoping this is one of those situations where if you prepare for it, it never happens 🤞 It also doesn’t hurt that @laurenshopeid has the absolute cutest bracelets and bangles. Swipe to see the back of it too because it’s super cute and I’m obsessed.
Race Week for 👆🏼💙 .
Last time I lined up I had a little hyperglycemia chaos (really high sugar) ending my race near the 400’s , I decided to see my endo to see if we can do any adjustments to my insulin intake the week of race, but unfortunately adrenaline rush will take over no matter what we do so we decided the best will be to keep as it is and HYDRATE all week, racing at noon is tough and even harder for me, the heat makes my glucose go crazy plus adrenaline... so my new State Championship goal is to keep my glucose in a safe range because finishing a race in the 400’s is NOT FUN🤮 #racingwithdiabetes
Thanks to devices like @dexcom I get the chance to monitor my glucose levels 24/7. Most important, I get easy access to my levels during trainings and racing, Dexcom’s job is to make life easier for Diabetics, similar to what @extrasweet_t1 is about, making life easier for Type 1’s. 💙🌎 #dexcomwarrior
How pretty does this blue podium look? Extremely proud of this squad, we came with a plan and delivered it perfect 💙 We put @valegaleano on a solo break giving the chance to @anahiboesch and myself to attack the group and bridge up to Vale, then @shelby_cano winning the field sprint 🤘🏻⚡️ Putting us 1,2,3&4 !
F: Have some coke we just finished a hard ride and you’ll go low soon.
V: No, I’m on 107 ➡️ I’m good.
(10 min later, he’s done with his coke) my @dexcom sounds... 54↘️🙄
He’ll forever guess my levels right.
This is us❤️ #powercouple
